Strain: Alaskan Butter

Alaskan ButterIndoor Hybrid Potency: 9

This is an exemplary effort by the medicinal community in Oregon. A rare breed that masterfully blends the effects sativa and indica. This is our “sweet spot.”

The cure is masterful. In contrast to our last profile on Green Crack, this has a bit more spongy texture even though the moisture content is roughly the same to the touch. The buds are manicured nicely though not overly, which is no problem as you can see from the ample resin content on each bud. Frosty indeed. The hit is clean as is the burn, even without the assistance of a grinder.

The flavor matches the scent and both are mild. While I’m not sure how to characterize the scent, the flavor is definitely subtly fruity, and is maintained through the end of a bowl which is very pleasant.

The product of clones, this is my first encounter with Alaskan Butter, and unfortunately this strains origins aren’t well documented.

There is some anecdotal evidence the parent strains are ATF and either Purple Butter or Liquid Butter, but they remain unverified.

As far as the “eyeball test”, if Alaskan Butter is in fact the product of ATF and Liquid Butter, it passes with flying colors.

There is some delay in effect, but the blending of indica and sativa is apparent the moment it sets in. There are certainly better painkilling effects here than the leafly profiles of either parent would lead on, but the high also has all of the hallmark clarity of the best sativas.

We’re devoted to covering only high quality, artisan cannabis, so the notion of a “Hall of Fame” seems counterproductive. That said, if we had one, this would be a sure bet.
